In the past the people used to think that having a female child is burden to them. Because to marry a girl parants have to struggle and have to spend huge amounts. After the marriage the parents have to Honor the in laws. If they were not given good treatment in turn they may not look after the daughter properly. Mainly the Female children in the in laws house and the mother in law if they were not satisfy with the gifts in marriage they keep it in mind and ill treat the daughter.
